Abstract
|
PDF (Tiếng Việt)
This study aimed to examine the current status of mental health and psychological resilience of special education teachers in Ho Chi Minh City and examine the relationship between these two factors. The study was designed using a descriptive cross-sectional method with 238 special education teachers. The tools used included the DASS-21 scale (Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995) to assess mental health and the CD-RISC-10 (Campbell-Sills & Stein, 2007) to assess psychological resilience. The results of the study showed that more than 60% of teachers had normal levels of depression, anxiety, and stress; 51.7% had normal levels of anxiety; however, there was still a significant proportion of teachers at severe and very severe levels. The average score of psychological resilience was quite average (34.34/50 points). There was a significant negative correlation between psychological resilience and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress (p < 0.05). This result confirms the key role of strengthening psychological resilience training programs and emotional support to protect the mental health of special education teachers, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and care for students with special needs.

Abstract

PDF (Tiếng Việt)
This article presents findings on managing Living Values Education (LVE) activities for students at Bui Van Thu Secondary School in Ho Chi Minh City. The study employed questionnaires and interviews with 17 administrators, 51 teachers, and staff to evaluate the management of goals, content, methods, stakeholder coordination, organizational conditions, and LVE outcome assessment. Management practices were implemented frequently and rated as fairly effective. Low standard deviations ( < 1.0) showed strong consensus among respondents. Correlation analysis revealed a statistically significant, positive link between implementation and effectiveness across all areas. However, effectiveness scores were always lower than implementation levels, especially in content delivery, pedagogy, coordination, and organizational conditions. These findings expose current limits in managing LVE. Identified causes include both objective factors, such as resources and coordination, and subjective factors, including awareness, management skills, and school culture. The study offers practical evidence to propose ways to improve LVE management for lower secondary students during ongoing educational reforms.
